About Us and Our Philosophy

The purplepatch methodology is grounded in a belief that optimal endurance performance, for every level of athlete, arrives from a balanced approach to training. The set of beliefs  that evolved from the education, athletic and coaching experience of Matt Dixon are the foundation of every purplepatch training plan or program. Your endurance training should always be supported by adequate recovery, proper nutrition and a smart functional strength program. The purplepatch pillars of performance apply to fitness enthusiasts just as much as our professional athletes. We all share the passion to improve, and our smart approach to training will ensure that you get your best results, again and again.

Coaches

Matt Lieto brings an amazing life story that extends through his personality and coaching. Living much of his life in obesity, he lost almost 100 pounds as he dedicated himself to healthier living, becoming an established professional athlete in the process.  Having been with purplepatch for the longest of all the pros, he brings a wealth of experience and fun to his coaching.

Meredith has taken an amazing journey to become a professional athlete and coach. A long-time Ironman enthusiast, with a best of 11 hours and 22 minutes before beginning with purplepatch, she is now an Ironman Champion. She did this while managing a 60 hour week working in finance.  She takes this passion and management skills into her coaching, and combines it with very naturally caring and strong leadership skills.

James has been involved in the purplepatch coaching system longer than any other person, and brings a strong blend of experience, technical expertise and passion to his coaching.  He has extensive experience training and competing as a professional athlete, but balances this with his passion for athlete development and guidance.

Josh Crosby is a former multi-sponsored, ultra-endurance athlete, elite triathlete, and World Champion rower. He is a self professed adrenalin addict, who is no stranger to intense physical competition and brings an elite caliber athletic pedigree to his coaching style and to the purplepatch Train With A Pro program.
